A GIFT FROM MOTHER EARTH

We are aware: all materials are a gift from Mother Earth to us.

SLOW-FASHION Therefore, we deal with them very sustainably and practice slow fashion with our collection. We only use materials that we can use with a clear conscience. These include, for example, organic cotton and bamboo. Our producer in India uses even the organic cotton leftovers from the cutting to produce paper. This sustainably produced paper is in turn used for our product tags.

TOXIC-FREE It is important to us that the production of the materials is based on agriculture that maintains and restores soil fertility without the use of toxic, permanent pesticides and fertilizers. We also do our processing without toxic dyes or toxic finishes.

PAY-BACK Through our alignment & energy we create awareness and thus contribute to world peace together with our customers. So we give back a common energetic pay-back to Mother Earth.

VEGAN We use only vegan materials. The SPARKLES OF LIGHT collection comes without leather, silk, wool, cashmere, mohair, angora, fur, feathers, and other animal components.

RESPONSIBILITY It is the responsibility of all of us to see clothing from a new perspective, as a gift from Mother Earth. This makes it easy for us to once again value our garments more and care for them more carefully so that they give us long-lasting pleasure.

herbaldyed

Organic cotton natural dyed

Natural colors have their origin in nature and are a gift from Mother Earth. They are made from plants, minerals, woods, roots, lichens, metals and also animals. The millennia-old knowledge of the production of natural and vegetable dyes from all continents gave way to synthetic dyes in the mid-19th century.

Today, this great knowledge is being revived in the spirit of sustainability and more and more dye plant gardens are finding new followers in Europe. In India, this ancient knowledge is still alive and many things are dyed naturally. We have found a manufactory that dyes exclusively with herbal dyes – vegan:

.

For dyeing, the plant parts are collected and dried in the sun for days before being turned into powder. Then the powder is mixed with natural mordants. We do not use heavy metal mordants such as copper, chrome, zinc, tin, etc.! So the color present in nature is extracted and fixed on the fabric.

.

Plant-dyed textiles require gentler care than chemically dyed clothing.

gotscertifiedcotton

GOTS certified organic cotton

GOTS means “Global Organic Textile Standard” and is recognized as the world’s leading standard for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibers. At a high level, it defines environmental requirements along the entire textile production chain and at the same time requires compliance with social criteria. Every step in the process, from the cultivation of organic cotton to production, is certified. The seal is awarded annually, and only if all sub-steps are certified, the product may carry the seal.

SOCIAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS WITH GOTS:

    • Employment is voluntary
    • Freedom of association and right to collective bargaining
    • No child labor
    • No discrimination
    • Working conditions are safe and hygienic
    • Prohibition of rough or inhumane treatment
    • Fair pay
    • Working hours must not regularly exceed 48 hours per week, right to breaks and at least 1 day off per week

Bambus

Plant fibers from bamboo

Bamboo has great potential for the future! Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world. Most species of bamboo grow between 5-20cm per day, some varieties even up to 1m per day. The plants can grow up to 40m high. They do not need pesticides, insecticides or fertilizers. Bamboo only needs sunlight and rainwater, it does not need artificial watering, which is a great advantage over cotton.

Another environmental advantage of bamboo is its wide rooting, it protects against soil erosion. Also the soil quality improves by planting, because bamboo is not a tree, but belongs to the grasses. The special feature: when harvesting, not the whole plant is harvested, but only the upper part. This leaves the root intact and so the stems grow back quickly. Due to its rapid growth, bamboo binds an extremely large amount of CO2 compared to trees.

Bamboo textiles are particularly soft and absorb more moisture than cotton. This makes them feel dry for longer. Textiles made of bamboo also have an insulating thermal regulation, they protect when it is cold and keep fresh when it is hot. In addition, the textiles wrinkle less.

In combination with organic cotton, the clothing gets the necessary strength and thus becomes more durable.
